Well, to be fair, I did not see this one coming. I can’t believe how easy this stuff worked.

So, I am dabling with new things lately. I haven’t been taking close watch to new technologies so I’m trying to get myself back up with the program. As my main focus (and joy) lies with maps nowadays, I wanted to see if and how Entity Framework would work with a Spatial Database. Now I am not going to trying big things on my first ride, so I used my SQL Server 2010 Express, installed the new Visual Studio 11 beta web and went cracking.

So, today I was at the GISTech 2012. It’s a conference made posible by ESRI and the ArcGis Gebruikers Groep Nederland (AGGN) and it was being held in Rotterdam. So I’m kinda making this blog to sum up the things I heard today now that it’s still fresh.

So, I got a bit sick of Joomla! as a CMS. All I do here is a short rant on my life / tech issues anyway, so I decided to go back to the basics and install a WordPress here.

I might change / tweak a bit in the next couple of days. Sadly, the two comments on the original blog are lost now.

As it now scaled down a bit in complexity, I hope I will blog more often.

So I was dabbling with some OpenLayers stuff at work and stumbled upon an example of the Tweening class of OpenLayers. Instantly, I got a nice idea.

Let’s go build a Google Earth-like zoom with OpenLayers!

So, I’ve just launched http://www.zay.nl, Well I had this domain for quite some time now, but never really knew what to do with it. Now it’s the domain of my Spatial Blog, or Splog. I still have some improvements to make, but I think that’s mainly on the backend.

So, in case you missed it, I’ve got an Ipad now. Yes, I have now leased my soul to Microsoft, Google and Apple. I hope I did count it off right, so I still have the major vote in my actions… Anyway, I am really fond of this new baby, although I am missing some things.

Basically, I wanted to put this project in a bit of a spotlight. It’s an awesome project, where a handfull of guys got the Android Open Source Project working on the Samsung Galaxy. Yeah well… this is about me. Since you are reading this, I’m asuming you care at least a bit. So, a short introduction might be in order for some readers… here goes: my name is Casper, I’m (at this moment) a 27 year old guy living in Voorburg, the Netherlands. I’ve been around the internet for quite some time now, and this is just another of my web domains. This site is mainly a braindump on all sort of things that go around in my head. I’ve become a big fan of Android. I’m currently owner of a Samsung Galaxy I7500. Yes, that’s the first Android phone by Samsung and I’ve certainly paid the price for it…
